Audit Manager

The Saskatchewan Financial Services Commission (SFSC) protects consumer interests and supports economic well-being through responsive financial marketplace regulation. The SFSC's Financial Institutions Division is seeking an Audit Manager to join our experienced and progressive team. 

As the successful candidate, you will regulate Saskatchewan trust and loan companies, insurance companies, mortgage brokers and credit unions.  You will be responsible for developing and carrying out regulatory activities for a portfolio of financial institutions, including determining risk profiles of these institutions and performing risk-based audits assessing the effectiveness of their risk management and governance processes and their compliance with legislation and other regulatory requirements.  You will communicate concerns and deficiencies to the financial institution and monitor to ensure these items are resolved, and recommend and support enforcement actions if concerns are not appropriately addressed.  You will also be involved in developing and implementing new legislation and policy impacting the regulation of financial institutions.

Typically the knowledge and abilities required for this position would be obtained through a professional accounting designation (CA, CMA, CGA) with a university degree in business administration or commerce or equivalent along with several years of progressive audit and financial analysis and related experience. Corporate Controller

UFR Urban Forest Recyclers Inc., a pulp moulding manufacturer with its Head Office in Swift Current, Saskatchewan, has an opportunity for an individual to join our company as the Corporate Controller. The Corporate Controller will report directly to the Vice- President, Finance and be responsible for leading the daily operation of the Company's accounting functions in Swift Current including budgeting, monthly financial reporting and analysis, coordinating the annual external audit and improving systems, policies and practices.

Along with the Vice-President, Finance, the Corporate Controller will be responsible to provide leadership and accounting expertise to our manufacturing facilities in Iowa and Indiana. This position will also have the lead role in the company's Canadian and United States tax planning.

The successful candidate will be a CA or CMA with a minimum of five years experience in general accounting management and at least three years of experience as an Assistant Controller with supervisory responsibilities. Experience within a manufacturing environment is also required.

The successful candidate will be hands-on, detail-oriented, have a passion for accuracy, a restless curiosity and unquestioned integrity. Strong communication and time management skills and the ability to work independently are required. The successful candidate must be available for travel to our US facilities.
