PD EVALUATIONS
Course Evaluations are now available on-line. A link will be sent to you after the course via email or you can visit our website www.icas.sk.ca to obtain the link. Thank you for taking the time to complete the PD Course Evaluation! Any comments you may have regarding this new process or how we can improve it please provide them to our office via email Brenda Kondra or record them on the evaluation form.
COURSES
It is important to understand that during our peak periods, we process a large volume of registrations per day received via fax, email, mail, online and in person so please be patient. Thank you!
REGISTRATION TERMS AND CONDITIONS
The registration deadlines for most courses are two weeks prior to the course date. The deadline for each course will be indicated on the course description. Registrations are handled on a "first come, first serve" basis.
GST
If claiming exemption, please provide us with your number.
MEMBER vs. NON-MEMBER
A member is a Canadian Chartered Accountant. This includes CA students. A non-member pertains to any individual who is not a Canadian Chartered Accountant.
FEE REDUCTION
If you have been granted family, academic or financial difficulty status, you are eligible for a 50% reduction in fees for ICAS sponsored professional development courses.
CANCELLATIONS AND REFUNDS
A refund less a penalty of $50.00 per course day will be granted where cancellation is made less than 2 weeks prior to the course date. No refund will be granted when cancellation is made less than one week prior to the course date.
NO SHOWS
A fee of $25 per course day will be billed to anyone who is a "No Show" for a course. No refund and/or credit, partial or full, will be given to "no-shows".
COURSE CANCELLATIONS
Courses with insufficient enrolment two weeks prior to the course date may be cancelled and full refunds will be made. Registrants will be advised and may enrol in alternative courses (subject to availability) or receive a full refund.
SUBSTITUTIONS
The Institute must be advised of any substitutions immediately.
COURSE MATERIAL
Course material will be available at each course.
CONFIRMATION OF ENROLLMENT
A confirmation letter will be sent to those registered immediately following the registration deadline usually two weeks. It is the attendee's responsibility to confirm their registration if they do not receive a confirmation by email or fax. If you have not received your confirmation prior to the course date, please contact Brenda immediately. All conditions apply whether or not you receive a letter of confirmation. Please ensure you provided accurate and legible information on your registration form.
COURSE LOCATIONS AND DATES
Course locations and dates are subject to change. Locations may change between the time the catalogue is released and time of the course delivery. It is important to check your confirmation letters for course details. Every effort is made to ensure the website has the most current information.

Unless otherwise stated, lunch and coffee breaks are provided at full-day and two day courses only. If you have allergies or other special meal considerations, please contact Brenda
FAQ
Why do I get charged the penalty for not showing up?
The fee is to cover the administration costs associated with handling your registration.
Do I have to register for 5 full days to take advantage of the PD Passport?
No, you can register for as many full and half day courses you would like as long as they total no more then 5 full days to be included on the PD Passport. You may then continue to attend additional courses at a reduced price.
Why can’t I be replaced by someone on my Personal Passport?
The personal passport is sold to the individual to reduce the per course cost of multiple registrations for an individual and is not-transferable. The Corporate PD passports are in place to allow for multiple CAs and employees to use the same passport at a cost savings.
Why can’t I cancel the course the day before?
You are not able to cancel after the deadline date because your registration is taken into account when the financial decision to run the course was made. Also, your registration is taken into account when making final arrangements for the room and lunch (if required) and if the course is filled to capacity, the Institute might have turned away other participants. The Institute’s policy is consistent with virtually any other organization that delivers training course.
Why is the penalty fee the same for full and half day courses?
The penalty fee is the same for full and half day courses because this is an administrative fee to cover the processing costs related to a cancellation. Administratively a full and half day course are the same amount of work per registration so the penalty is the same.
Why can’t I register for a passport after the deadline if I’m willing to pay the penalty fee per course?
It is necessary to impose a deadline date to allow sufficient time to make final course decisions and to handle the administration of the program.
Why can’t I switch courses after the deadline?
A deadline is necessary to allow time for the Institute staff to prepare course material, registration lists and make administrative decisions on class sizes and placement.
How many verifiable hours are ICAS courses?
Half day is 3.5 hours, full day is 7 hours and two day course is 14 hours. All of the hours that you spend with on-line courses would be verifiable. They are the same material as the 2 day course, but offered in a different format. Your time might be more than the 15 hours if you were in the classroom, but you are able to claim the actual amount of time that you spend. We don't want to specify minimum or maximum hours for you. It makes the most sense for each member to include the actual hours that they spent on the course, since that is the actual learning time for you.
