TIM BEAUCHAMP, CMA
Tim is the Director of the Public Sector Accounting Board (PSAB) of Canada and has been directly involved in standard setting for the public sector since 1989. He joined the staff of PSAB after working more than 7 years in the public sector having responsibilities that included accounting, budgeting and debt management. He is responsible for the strategic and operating plans of PSAB and reporting its performance to the Accounting Standards Oversight Council. Tim provides advice to PSAB and staff on technical projects and administers staff activities.
He has served as a special advisor on various public sector financial reporting related committees and is currently a technical advisor to the International Public Sector Accounting Standards Board.
Tim authored the research report “Accounting for Infrastructure in the Public Sector”. He has spoken at many events over the years and taught at York University on public sector accounting and financial reporting issues.
LISA DORIAN, CA.CIA, CPA (IL)
Lisa is Vice President of MDA Training. She has extensive experience in risk management, corporate governance, strategy, and business process development. She is also an accomplished trainer and facilitator working with all levels of management including boards of directors. Lisa previously held the position of Vice President, Finance & CFO with Citizens Bank of Canada and has held other senior financial positions within both public and private sectors.
Lisa is Vice Chair of Financial Executives International Canada, and is a member of FEI’s National Issues and Policy Advisory Committee’s sub-committee on corporate governance and internal controls. She is a sought after speaker and author who has spoken at many trade conferences and has authored articles on and/or been the subject matter expert on the topic of risk management.
After earning a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Manitoba, Lisa moved on to become a Chartered Accountant and also holds the U.S. Certified Public Accountant designation. She is also a Certified Internal Auditor and is accredited by the Institute of Internal Auditors to conduct quality assessments/validations. She is currently completing her Project Management Professional certification.

John is a Senior Tax Associate with Abrahamse Berkis Pinto & Associates in Toronto. He frequently presents income tax and sale tax professional development courses various provincial institutes. John has authored numerous papers dealing with various tax topics for the Canadian Institute of Chartered Accountants and the Canadian Tax Foundation.
GEOFF GARLAND, CA
Geoff is a Tax Partner with BDO Canada LLP in Winnipeg. He has gained a great deal of experience working with the full spectrum of the firm's clients. He is involved with the tax compliance and planning for the firm. As tax partner, he is involved with personal and corporate tax planning, corporate reorganizations, estate planning, financial planning and dealing with the Canada Revenue Agency. Geoff is a tutor with the CICA Indepth Tax Course for both the group study and in-residence program. Geoff has presented at the CICA National Tax Conference, the Canadian Tax Foundation's Prairie Provinces Tax Conference and is a regular lecturer for the Manitoba Institute of Chartered Accountants. In 2009, Geoff received the Manitoba Institute of Chartered Accountants Early Achievement Award.
VELMA GEDDES, FCA
Velma obtained her Bachelor of Commerce degree (honours and distinction) from the University of Saskatchewan in 1983 and obtained her CA designation from the Institute of Chartered Accountants in 1986. She also obtained her Certificate in Health Care Administration – Long Term Care from the University of Saskatchewan in 1996. She was awarded the FCA designation in 2010 and was named one of Saskatchewan’s 10 women of influence by Saskatchewan Business Magazine in 2011.
Velma’s extensive past experience include CFO and other senior financial management positions in school divisions, health care organizations and the Ministries of Education and Health. Her volunteer activities have included the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Saskatchewan, the Association of School Business Officials, the Saskatchewan School Boards Association, the Saskatchewan Assessment Management Agency, and serving on the boards for the Five Hills Regional Health Authority and the Saskatchewan Association of Health Organizations.
Velma is currently a contract consultant with the Saskatchewan Ministry of Education and was instrumental in the recent implementation of PSAB standards for school divisions in Saskatchewan.

STUART HARTLEY, FCA
Stuart is the President of FocusROI Inc., a specialized consulting firm that is dedicated to helping accounting audit and finance professionals learn the ever changing professional standards and regulations and then turn that learning into practical cost effective action. Services include training courses and accounting firm monitoring. He is also a founder of SmartPDonline, a firm that provides online training courses.
Prior to joining FocusROI, Stuart was a senior audit Partner with BDO Dunwoody LLP. During that time, he was the National Director of Accounting and Auditing and a member of the CICA's Auditing Standards Committee. He helped develop BDO's international audit methodology and has trained extensively on auditing practice and CaseWare implementation around the world. Before BDO, he spent two years with the office of the Auditor General of Canada where he developed methodology for performing value-for-money assignments.
Stuart is the author of the CICA’s Canadian Professional Engagement Manual, and the CICA’s Quality Assurance Manual. He is also the author of the Guide to Using International Standards on Auditing in the Audits of Small- and Medium-sized Entities, published by International Federation of Accountants (IFAC) and the booklets Risk Management Primer for Directors of Not-for-Profit Organizations and Risk Management Toolkit for Not-for-Profit Executives published by the Canadian Society of Association Executives (CSAE). Stuart also writes many training courses, has published many articles and is a popular
instructor at professional training courses.

Maureen has over 25 years combined experience as a professional speaker, workshop facilitator, business consultant, and educator. DARREN LANG, MBA
Throughout his business career Darren has worked as a human resources consultant and trainer. Seven years ago he left his corporate job to join his wife Darci in their training company and help raise their two children Jayda and John. It was during this time that Darren received the biggest wake up call of his life. The stress of running a business, raising small children and traveling started to take its toll. After several months of doing nothing about it, he began to lose his zest for life and found himself in a deep rut.

BILL MATIKO, CA, CBV
Bill is an Associate Partner in Deloitte’s Saskatchewan Financial Advisory group. Bill’s focus is working with clients to provide business valuation and dispute consulting services. He also assists clients with business planning and financial modeling.
In this role, Bill has provided valuation and litigation support services for various purposes including mergers and acquisitions, matrimonial disputes, shareholder disputes, income tax and estate purposes, insurance claims, professional negligence claims and various disputes involving economic damage quantifications. He has given expert witness testimony in the Court of Queen’s Bench of Saskatchewan and has given expert witness testimony before a judicial tribunal. In addition he has presented expert evidence at a number of mediation sessions and he has been appointed as an arbitrator on valuation matters.
Bill has 25 years experience in public practice. He is a chartered accountant and a chartered business valuator. He has facilitated professional development courses for ICAS and the Saskatchewan Legal Education Society and teaches on a part time basis with the University of Saskatchewan Edwards School of Business MBA program.
DREW MCDONALD, CA
Drew has a diverse background in personal and corporate taxation matters, having worked at both large and small firms. He has lectured and tutored in the qualification seminar and the In-Depth Tax seminar and has co-lectured both the corporate and personal income tax update seminars. He has experience in numerous areas of international and domestic taxation and has also advised on GST and provincial sales tax issues.
COLETTE MILLER FCA
Colette, a partner in Wilde & Company, Vegreville, has enjoyed over 25 years of working with Alberta municipalities. As a senior municipal auditor, consultant and instructor she has a keen interest in local government issues. Over the years, she has worked closely with municipal auditors, elected officials and local government administration throughout Alberta. She is also a director of ATB Financial, a provincial crown corporation.
Colette has instructed courses on municipal auditing and public sector accounting for the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Alberta, AAMD&C, AUMA and GFOA. She has also been a resource person for the implementation of the Tangible Capital Asset Guidelines. In addition, Colette has taught courses on GST for local government and is recognized as a specialist in these areas.

Hugh is an independent contractor to Ernst & Young LLP, where he is the Edmonton Market Leader for Private Client Tax Services. His practice focuses on income tax services for individuals and owner-managed private corporations. Hugh has practiced in the tax area since 1990, and provides tax consultation in many diverse areas, including business structuring and restructuring, negotiations with Canada Revenue Agency auditors and Appeals Officers, tax-effective compensation strategies, immigration and emigration planning and strategies for tax-effective personal, family and estate tax planning. Hugh has instructed courses for the Institutes of Chartered Accountants of Alberta and Saskatchewan in the area of taxation, and has presented at the Canadian Institute of Chartered Accountants' National Conference on Income Tax. His articles have been published in Law Now and Lawyers' Weekly, and he appears semi-regularly in Video Tax News.

Massood specializes in implementation, optimization and in-house training for internal control programs, SOX/CSOX compliance, corporate governance practices, accelerated closes processes and shareholder reporting requirements. He also specializes in designing and evaluating internal control environments for governmental organizations, pre-IPO and private companies, and not-for-profit entities. He is a founding member of FinEx Group and with 35 years of experience has worked extensively in a cross section of industries and in public practice internationally. Mr. Oroomchi is a past-member of the Board of Trustees of Canadian Financial Executives Research Foundation, a past- member of the Board of Directors of the Financial Executives International Canada and Past-Chair of FEI Canada’s Audit & Finance, National Technical and Corporate Reporting Committees. He is also a past-member of the Accounting Standards Oversight Council of the CICA.

Eileen is President and founder of Dynamic Learning Inc., a company devoted to enhancing people’s ability to grow and learn by working with their thinking skills. As a facilitator she has led executive, supervisory and management groups across Canada and the United States. Eileen is a senior consultant with Knightsbridge MICA Management Resources (Toronto, ON) and is certified by the Management Research Group (Portland, ME) to facilitate their assessment-based development system in Leadership 360º™ and Strategic Leadership Practices™. Eileen has been facilitating interaction within groups ranging from a few people to over 100 people since 1991. Her facilitation has been for as little as two hours, or as long as nine months. Stephen is the President and founder of Practical PD, Seminars for Accountants, as well as Vice-President Finance, Chief Financial Officer of Chinook MHD Corporation. He also advises a number of businesses and not for profit organizations.
An engaging and experienced speaker, Stephen weaves practical tips together with stories from his business experience and input from participants. His seminars are based on over 25 years of corporate experience.
After working with KPMG for five years, Stephen moved into industry, where he has worked for both public and private companies. Alan is recognized as Canada’s leading analyst in the area of accounting technology. He has over 27 years of business, management systems, education and journalism experience. As the CEO of K2 Enterprises Canada he is responsible for the Canadian operations of this international consulting group which provides professional development technology education for CAs, CPAs and accountants across Canada and the US. He has a degree in Science and an Advanced Teaching Certificate from the University of Toronto. He teaches over 100 seminars a year to the CA, CGA and CMA associations in Canada. Gen's experience has been largely in the areas of accounting and assurance. She currently has her own practice and performs monitoring and peer reviews for other practices. She also facilitates for the CA School of Business (CASB). In addition to her previous positions at a national firm and a local mid-sized firm, her other experience includes an industry position with an owner managed business. Gen has instructed professional development courses for both the Saskatchewan and Alberta Institutes.

Laura is a consultant at Neverest Inc., a company specializing in professional development, consulting and quality assurance services in the areas of audit, accounting, and risk management.
Laura began teaching and consulting over 20 years ago and has maintained her passion and interest for learning and teaching. She enjoys writing as well as delivering professional development and training programs to accountants both in practice and in industry. She is also involved in the training of CA students and in helping them prepare for the Uniform Evaluation (the “UFE”).
Laura is involved with the preparation and delivery of professional development and training courses offered by The Institute of Chartered Accountants of Ontario (ICAO). She has taught at the Ontario School of Accountancy for over 20 years.
Laura is responsible for updating the professional development course entitled “Professional Risk Management – A Practical Perspective”. From 2005 – 2007 Laura worked on a full-time basis for one of her clients - RBC – Internal Audit where she assumed the role of Director- Professional Audit Standards. During this time Laura earned her Certified Internal Audit designation and was instrumental in the application process for the training of CA students.
